The French percussionist Jean-Charles François from Lyon is an experienced improviser and a theorist who has launched the Internet portal on improvised and new music paalabres. Christopher Williams and Simon Rose also have a particular research interest in contemporary music and creative processes. Reinhard Gagel from the Department of Theory and Research of exploratorium berlin is hosting this meeting with musicians who also bring together music and theory in their own person and are currently working on it and have some exchanges with Jean-Charles.

Our library comprises a steadily growing collection of literature focusing on musical improvisation, but also dance improvisation and performance. Furthermore, you can find literature about creativity, (musical) pedagogy and play. This is complemented by a collection of cds and dvds by artists of free improvisation.weiterlesen
