Thomas Gerwin is a classically educated composer and sound artist. He came into the field of improvisation and electroacoustic music very early, later he also intensively worked on soundscape composition and radio art. Today he mostly works in his studio inter art project in Berlin, Germany, composes for concert performances, dance, radio and film – (with and without traditional music instruments, acousmatic, multi-channel and live-electronics) and creates sound installations for public spaces and festivals.
He is artistic director of „Kammerensemble ad hoc“ and of yearly “International Sound Art Festival Berlin“. His works are released worldwide and have been awarded with some international prizes and stipends.
