Forgetting yourself in the game and staying awake.
Perceiving musical structures.
Exploring play. Practising listening.
Celebrating playfulness.
Target audience: This workshop is aimed at musicians of all instruments and styles (e.g. strings, brass, woodwinds, guitar, schwyzerörgeli…) who master their instrument, want to meet and are looking for new vocabulary.
Everything that has to do with improvisation can be the topic, also concepts and composition for improvisers. But above all, we play, play and play again. The themes emerge together with the participants.
Experienced or courageous improvisers can refine their material, talk about their music, gather new ideas and meet other musicians through play. Beginners jump in at the deep end.
Improvisation is not dependent on instrumental skills, but it may get better with them. Inexperienced or newcomers to improvisation should phone Carl Ludwig to find out their suitability for this workshop. (Please contact by email first, see details).
