Zeynep Ayşe Hatipoğlu & Ulrike Ruf – Encounter
In January of this year, the two cellists Zeynep Ayşe Hatipoğlu and Ulrike Ruf met for the first time.
Two improvising musicians with the same instrument – that’s what they have in common.
Everything else has yet to be explored. What do they both bring to the collaboration from their own cultural backgrounds (which have its roots in Istanbul and Berlin) and personal life and artistic biographies?
What themes have been important to them so far, what kind of musical language have they developed, how their instruments are tuned, what kind of sonic set pieces/findings from previous projects do they see as important to share with each other.
You can experience the direction that the two musicians have now taken together in their first joint concert on April 28th.
