Nº 11: Pieces without memory
Concert. Lecture. Discussion
Thursday, 5. July 2018, 20 h (Saal 1)
The title “without memory” suggests that free improvisation is a momentary musical process of constant emergence and disappearance that does not build on concrete memory. However, the “Pieces” are conceptual: in each piece a timing of five minutes and a general break at the same time form the ever-repeated frame. The philosopher Alessandro Bertinetto makes this contradictory, but improvisationally fertile setting his subject and weaves his statements into the musical structure of form. (in German language)
A musical-philosophical music-text performance about emergence and disappearance, freedom and limitation, retention and forgetting.
