Scratch Orchestra Special Workshop

Four short workshops on the Scratch Orchestra’s “Improvisation Rites” and on different aspects of contemporary composition.

Friday 18.00 – 21.00 and Saturday 10.00 – 12.00:
Improvisation Rites – with Bryn Harris, Stefan Szczelkun and Hugh Shrapnel

Using the Scratch Orchestra’s ‘Improvisation Rites’ participants will try the original rites and have the opportunity to write new ones. There will be an introduction to selected compositions from the book ’Scratch Music’.

Sunday 10.30 – 12 and 13.30 – 15.00
Composition – with composers Richard Ascough and Hugh Shrapnel

This will cover different aspects of contemporary composition from graphic scores to new uses of conventional notation.

All workshops will be in English language.

The workshops have to be postponed to 2021 due to Corona pandemic
