Solo Performance Improvisation

Andrew takes a “skills” and “spirit’ approach to teaching improvisation.

We will engage in the skills of engagement necessary to find content from breath, movement, voice and the imagination and we will amplify these skills using the spirit of communication necessary to engage an audience. we will start by working in simple ways with the body and voice and gradually extend these modes to include imagination and communication as sources for our material and for making choices.

We will explore the possibilites of “making decisions” and “noticing what is changing” as ways for material to develop.
We will also develop a specific form of feedback to help to process the experience of improvising.

Participants should expect to enjoy themselves, as they become their own editor in performance whilst developing texture and clarity.
