What IIIF? Berlin 2021 – “Improvisation and Memory”

The 5th WHAT IIIF? Festival, an international research festival of interdisciplinary improvisation, takes place in the exploratorium berlin. (The festival starts already on September 16th outside the exploratorium.)

Every year in a different European city, WHAT IIIF? poses the impossible question: Can (the essence of) improvisation be documented? This year the festival brings together movers, musicians, artists, authors and researchers in Berlin under the theme of ‘Improvisation and Memory’. The results are made available on the growing open source website http://www.improvisation.wiki.

Over a period of three days there are open and closed research meetings, shared meals, exercise and attunement, relaxation and solo and collective creation. WHAT IIIF? unfolds according to its improvisational character without a pre-determined schedule.
