Janine Schneider

celebrates her 60th dance anniversary in 2024.

She trained in classical and modern dance in London (Contemporary Dance School) and New York (Merce Cunningham Studio). Butohtanz with Masaki Iwana.

She moved in scenic works by Maria de Alvear, Erhard Großkopf, Hans Tutschku and other composers and developed her own method of meditative bodywork, which she teaches. Her solo I, CENTER!

in 2009 won 3rd prize in the “Best German Dance Solo” competition organised by Euro-Scene Leipzig. Dance, choir and acting at the Staatsoper and the Schaubühne Berlin. In 2017, JS is a guest lecturer at the HZT Berlin.

She is also the author of numerous texts and poems.
