Laura Stoppkotte
is an illustrator and has been living in Berlin since 2016, where she studied Visual Communication at the University of the Arts.
She likes the strong contrasts of woodcut, the soft structures of watercolour, the scratchy lines and unintentional ink stains of drawing with a much too old pen, the hiding of small details in large drawings, the naive handling of a new medium, the liveliness of sketches, the inaccuracies of analogue printing techniques, quick ideas and their perfectionist elaboration; memories, snapshots, narratives, dramaturgies.
