Nora Deetje Leggemann
freelance author and literary mediator, lives in Berlin
Nora (*1987) studied literary writing at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig as well as social work and social and cultural sciences with a focus on cultural education, diversity studies and literature in Berlin, Frankfurt/Oder and Vienna.
Nora’s literary focus is narrative prose. She also writes non-fiction texts, articles, reviews and for the theater. In 2024 she received a literary work scholarship from the state of Lower Saxony for her current novel project. In 2022 she was a winner of the Cologne Promotion Prize for Young Literature and in 2016 and 2022/23 she was a scholarship holder of the Bavarian Academy of Writing. Her play “On the Edge of the Orbit” (UA) premiered at the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau in 2023. In her work, Nora is interested in non-stereotypical representations of gender and human relationships with nature.
Nora is co-founder of the association “Junges Literaturinstitut – Verein für Literaturvermittlung Leipzig”. Her writing workshops and seminars with different formal and thematic focuses are aimed at all age groups. She teaches at universities, libraries, schools, in youth and cultural centres, at the FSJ Kultur and at the Leipzig Book Fair.
