In this free improvising trio the two brass players Lina Allemano (trumpet) and Matthias Müller (trombone) meet the double bass player Ulf Mengersen.
In their improvisations, the three Berlin-based musicians explore soundscapes between free jazz, new music and avant-garde. The result is dense soundscapes of shimmering colours in which the overtones of the two brass instruments and the bowed double bass merge. Percussive passages alternate with melodic fragments, harmonic sounds, unconventional playing styles and unusual preparations. The listener is captivated by strong arcs of tension, ranging from minimalist moments to an effervescent swarm of hornets.
