Intercultural Music Pool (IMP)

Facilitator: Thomas Gerwin

Location: exploratorium berlin, Saal

This permanent ensemble consists of musicians from different cultures and backgrounds who meet regularly for intercultural exchange and creative ensemble playing based on freely improvised music, inventing music together from tone, sound, noise, rhythm and language, trying out extended playing techniques and ways of playing together, exploring artistic commonalities, developing new forms of experimental-improvisational intercultural music-making practice and performing in public.

The ensemble welcomes new members by appointment, especially musicians who have recently arrived in Germany as refugees, but also those who have been living in Berlin for some time and have cultural roots outside Central Europe.
