Over two afternoons we explore different types of poetic and narrative language work in writing and the spoken word. Participants have the opportunity to get a taste of various language art methods and use them as a basis to work on their own language art works. We use images, objects and words as a starting point for poems, sound poetry and stories. Together we will conduct experiments:
- How do I find free linguistic association?
- How can I improvise with language?
- How does sound arise in a poem?
- What effects does repetition produce?
- Which word fields do I enter?
- Where do I write/narrate from?
- Can I record a story without writing?
In line with the tradition of “nature writing”, we place a particular focus on sensory impressions and vocabulary relating to non-human creatures and our ecosystems.
No previous experience necessary.
