!Offhandopera! : New work
The !Offhandopera! is music theatre based on musical and vocal improvisation. It is performed ad hoc and without rehearsals in concert with few props. The momentary and spontaneous is the attraction of this form of musical theatre. In each !OHO!, musicians and singers improvise (sing, speak, make music) to a specially written libretto under the direction of an improvising conductor. The performance is completely impromptu.
We are looking for musicians with improvisation experience, in any case courageous and curious. Any instrument and any voice are welcome. In a short workshop beforehand, the players will warm up and get in tune with each other in terms of improvisation. If you would like to take part, please contact the exploratorium berlin.
