Workshop for families with children aged 5–8

© exploratorium berlin

Facilitator: Aida Shahidi

Age: 5–8 years

Location: exploratorium berlin, Saal

SchrumpfLAB in the exploratorium! On this day there are family workshops on musical improvisation: with the voice, with everyday objects and with instruments. Together with two wonderful musicians, we will delve into the world of sound invention and see how composing together works in real time. No previous musical knowledge is required!

This course is held in German.

A colorful collection of unusual instruments and sounding objects is waiting for you to explore – musician and educator Aida Shahidi leads sound experiments! With the instruments from the exploratorium you can make music together in smaller and larger groups. We listen to the sounds and use them to invent our own music together. No previous musical knowledge is required; everyone (including smaller or older siblings) is welcome.

SchrumpfLABs are open workshops, specially designed for families in every possible variation. We exchange ideas in small groups and conduct our own experiments with images, sound and movement. The LABs are an addition to the pieces being shrunk – a way for families to try something new together and spend some creative time together.
