Accessibility at exploratorium berlin

exploratorium berlin regards inclusion and the removal of barriers as core principles of its work. We aim to make participation in our programmes possible for everyone – regardless of individual needs or impairments.

Our event spaces are accessible for wheelchair users and visitors with strollers. The workshop leaders strive to design their courses as inclusively as possible within the scope of their respective possibilities.

To ensure the best possible participation, we kindly ask people with specific requirements to contact exploratorium berlin or the respective workshop leader in advance so that we can discuss suitability and any necessary arrangements together.

Access to the building

exploratorium berlin is located at Zossener Straße 24, 10961 Berlin-Kreuzberg.
The building is accessible for wheelchair users, rollator users and visitors with strollers.

There is currently no guidance system for blind or visually impaired visitors. We therefore recommend bringing an accompanying person if needed, or contacting us in advance to discuss individual support options.

Workshops, courses and events take place on four floors. An elevator connects all floors, ensuring that all rooms are accessible.

An accessible toilet is located on the ground floor.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome at exploratorium berlin.
They are generally permitted at stage events.
For workshops, we kindly ask you to inform the workshop leader in advance so that any individual arrangements (e.g. regarding allergies) can be discussed.

Entrances

There are three entrances to exploratorium berlin:

Main entrance (via the restaurant Mokja):
From the entrance of the restaurant Mokja, walk straight through the restaurant until you reach the wooden door marked with the exploratorium logo.
Behind this door, continue straight ahead past the restrooms; at the end of the corridor, the door to the exploratorium foyer is located on the right.
The concert hall is on the ground floor. All floors can be reached from the foyer via the elevator.

Entrance via the courtyard (left large courtyard gate):
This entrance is reserved for participants of group programmes.
In the courtyard, a large door on the left leads directly into the foyer on the ground floor. From there, all floors can be accessed via the elevator or the staircase.

Office entrance (staircase entrance, Zossener Str. 24):
This entrance is reserved for staff, service providers, delivery personnel and people with individually arranged appointments.

The seating in the hall consists of chairs with backrests and is fully movable. There is sufficient space for wheelchair users.
