Christoph Baumann

(*1954) is an improvising musician, pianist and composer.
He is a professor of jazz piano and improvisation at the Lucerne School of Music.
His artistic work oscillates between the poles of improvisation and composition. The attempt to integrate different musical styles into larger dramaturgical contexts is a constant.
His musical activities have taken him on tours and to festivals all over the world. He composes for various ensembles, film, dance, theatre and radio plays. His musical activity is widely documented on CDs.
