Judith Thimm
Judith Thimm is an actress, rhythm teacher and currently training to become a music therapist.
She has worked with children in various contexts, including leading rhythm projects in Berlin elementary schools and co-designing theater projects in Berlin and Austria. This was mainly about improvisation and movement performances.
She uses different approaches to acting improvisation. She pays particular attention to what the children bring with them, the many ideas that lie dormant within them, and responds to individual (sometimes unintentional) suggestions.
Her aim is to give children space for free development. Everyone is important, everyone can contribute something, everything is interesting and nothing is wrong. Improvisation offers the opportunity to try things out, to be funny, to be open, to respond to others, to take your place.
Improvisation trains the ability to be sensitive, towards yourself and others. Working with body, voice and breathing is always fundamental, because our body is our tool and if we get to know it better, we can perceive and explore more.
