Karen Schlimp

Karen Schlimp is a musician and improvisation teacher at Bruckner University in Linz, the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
2009: Habilitation in improvisation. Studies of piano pedagogy at Vienna Music University, performance diploma from the Guildhall School of Music, and improvisation at the Leipzig University of Music.

Has performed internationally in the interdisciplinary field of improvisation with painters, dancers, poets, storytellers and video artists.
Team publications: Impromosaik (playing cards for improvisation) and Klangwege-Improvisation anregen, lernen, unterrichten (improvisation teaching book).
She is a silent film musician at the Linz Cinematograph for many years and scored over 40 films. Mobile piano performances featuring the piano on a bicycle, in a tree and in a museum.
