
Karen Schlimp
Karen Schlimp is a musician and improvisation teacher at Bruckner University in Linz, the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
2009: Habilitation in improvisation. Studies of piano pedagogy at Vienna Music University, performance diploma from the Guildhall School of Music, and improvisation at the Leipzig University of Music.
- Has performed internationally in the interdisciplinary field of improvisation with painters, dancers, poets, storytellers and video artists.
- Team publications: Impromosaik (playing cards for improvisation) and Klangwege-Improvisation anregen, lernen, unterrichten (improvisation teaching book).
- She is a silent film musician at the Linz Cinematograph for many years and scored over 40 films. Mobile piano performances featuring the piano on a bicycle, in a tree and in a museum.
