Pedro Kadivar

The Iranian-born playwright and director Pedro Kadivar emigrated to Paris at the age of 16, where he studied theater studies after graduating from high school and worked as an assistant director and later as a director. During a trip to Berlin organized for young theater directors from France, he met Heiner Müller and decided to settle in Berlin.
He obtained his doctorate in Romance Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin in 2002 and continued his work as a playwright and theater director both in Germany and in France, where he regularly led workshops.
He has staged his plays both in France and in Berlin and has received several awards for his work.
At the same time, he has published several texts in German and French theater and literary magazines. His Little Book of Migrations was published in German translation by Sujet Verlag in 2017. He is regularly invited to give readings and workshops in Germany and abroad.
