Grounding & Becoming

Supporting impulses for (dance) improvisation

© Cristina Marx/Photomusix

Facilitator: Anna Pietsch

Location: exploratorium berlin, Saal

With the help of gravity…

… arrive & land.

… perceive & linger.

… research, work, trace.

… perhaps : BE AMAZED.

The sensation of being held by gravity is more than just a feeling. It is a neurophysiological state of inner connection that allows us to be simultaneously open & securely anchored in the here & now.

Our senses are finely tuned to consciously perceive spatial & rhythmic, as well as imaginary & poetic connections & to enter into a mindful, creative resonance with inner & outer stimuli.

In the course of this workshop, which is aimed equally at amateurs & experienced improvisers, we will specifically explore simple somatic means & ways to enable the body to engage with composing in real time in a curious, inspired & playful way.

The aim of this shared journey is above all to experience a self-organising process in which the focus is less on ‘performance’ as such than on filling a sensed inner reservoir of creative & invigorating impressions.
