In this workshop you will not only experience and get to know the musical cultures of the “Far East” (from a European perspective), but also develop your own creativity using various traditional music styles from East Asia.
In the workshop we will give you an overview of our traditional Chinese music. In particular, we will focus on and introduce the music of Beijing Opera, Chao Zhou music (Teochew), Taiwanese aboriginal singing and the music of Taiwanese opera.
We will explore the traditional keys, rhythms and patterns through various practical exercises.
We will then play and improvise together. The two teachers will be playing the Chinese violin “Erhu” and the Chinese lute “Pipa”.
The workshop is aimed at advanced amateurs, music students and professionals. All instruments, including voice, are welcome.
The workshop will be held in German.
