The workshop “free improvisation” will consist of four parts.
In the morning (10 – 13 h), there will be three parts with each of the musicians focussing on a specific topic.
- “About rhythm and free improvisation” (Barre Phillips)
- “Improvisation: play, listen, imagine” (Jacques Demierre)
- “Listening conscious perception as a basis of free improvisation” (Urs Leimgruber)
The afternoon (15 – 17 h) is dedicated to the interaction between the three facilitators and the participants. Listeners are welcome.
The workshop is aimed at musicians of all instruments and dancers.
Workshop language is English, German translations are possible.
As part of their three-day residency at the exploratorium, the trio will perform in concert on 28 and 30 May:
