Using voice, body, language and movement, we explore the themes of instinct, identification, identity and expression. From improvisation, we create open or composed forms that focus on presence, resonance, and communication as the guiding principles of performance.
The interaction of voice and movement in improvisation allows us to access not only the early childhood realm but also a very personal part of ourselves, revealing how much we are in contact with ourselves and how much joy in expression and play we (still) have. It also shows how much “pleasure”—i.e. sensual joy—we have in the relationship with an audience (and ourselves), or how close we are to the audience, what distance and security we actually need to be “close,” and what we can do when at times things happen to be not so “fun.”
We will explore rhythm, sound, and the diversity of languages, styles and facets of the human voice with humor and always translate them into movement.
Interactions with recorded music or self-performed pieces and improvisations will allow us to expand the vocal and movement spectrum.
For whom
The method is aimed at anyone who wants to gain more confidence and sovereignty in their voice and body, speech and movement.
For what
The focus is rediscovering musical vitality within a spontaneous, instinctive, experimental, vocal or verbal and physical expression. The interplay between affective and cognitive processes, or rather controlling when and how to use the “lower and higher regions” of the brain (improvising – creating), ultimately serves the overall presence (and well-being) of the person expressing themselves.
