Hada Benedito, Antti Virtaranta, Kellen Mills and Sue Koppel converge in impulses of corporeal mime and free jazz, this time exploring qualities of movement and sound, stillness and silence, repetition and chaos. The quartet will focus on energetic immobility as a theme to discover new sonic and visual narratives.

Hada Benedito: Trained pianist and director of the real-time composition ensemble BSO. Hada lives and works in Berlin and has been active in the field of improvised and contemporary music since 2009. She is part of the independent scene and regularly realises projects with artists in Europe and abroad.

Antti Virtaranta: Bassist and composer based in Berlin. He focuses on expressing his voice in music and sound through composition and improvisation. Influences from jazz and rock music as well as contemporary techniques shape his musical language.

Kellen Mills: Bass player and composer. He is the leader of TRYON, a large ensemble project he founded in Berlin in 2020. As an improviser, Kellen Mills focuses on electronic noise, dissonance and free jazz improvisation. His eclectic approach and technical prowess have led to collaborations with notable musicians in the realtime and jazz scenes.

Sue Koppel: Actress and director of The Thinking Body Company and theatre educator, Sue has specialised in the discipline of Corporeal Mime since 2014. She has dedicated most of her practice to composing original theatre pieces and teaching theatre to various groups. Recently based in Berlin, she has been exploring cross-media composition and the possibilities offered by the free jazz and independent scenes.
