At this summer vacation workshop, you can design your own picture book! Together, we will invent stories and illustrate them with pictures that we will print ourselves in the Krumulus printing workshop. In the exploratorium, we will play with language, tell stories, rhyme, and invent characters, worlds, and exciting adventures.
With the help of plotting techniques and storyboards, we will develop our stories step by step. Whether animals, humans, or fantasy creatures—your story can take place in your real home or in a magical fantasy world, just as your imagination desires.
At the Krumulus printing workshop, you will learn about different printing techniques and try them out for yourself. We will design our own stamps from different materials, experiment with shapes, lines, and patterns, and print with colors on paper. We will also work with a printing press to make multiple copies of our images and reproduce them for our book. This will result in unique illustrations that expand your story and bring it to life.
At the end, you will bind your artwork into a real picture book using a simple bookbinding technique. At our final presentation, you can read from it to family and friends or tell the story freely and show your printed pictures.
Of course, you can take your finished book home with you.
