FAQ

• Who is the tenant?

  Our particular concern is to make our rooms available to people from the fields of art + culture + education who are looking for rehearsal and other event opportunities at reasonable rental conditions, with good acoustics and a pleasant atmosphere.

  Unfortunately, we are not the right place for events from the political and/or religious-spiritual spectrum.

  However, we are primarily event organizers and only rent out space on the side. The rooms can therefore only be rented out for DO-IT-YOURSELF OPERATIONS.

  What we do not offer:

  • the quality and scope of a recording studio
  • on-site technical support
  • other services (provision of service staff, catering, etc.)
  • We are not a venue for events with standard dances of any kind. Our floors are not suitable for this.
  • We are also unfortunately the wrong venue for private parties, birthday parties or rock music.

• What is the letting period?

  After the editorial deadline for our half term programmes and summer holiday flyer, you can find out about the possibilities of renting our rooms:

  • from mid-June for the period: end of the Berlin summer holidays to mid-Februar
  • from the beginning/middle of December for the period mid-February to the beginning of the Berlin summer holidays
  • from the middle/end of April for the period during the Berlin summer holidays

  There is a minimum rental period of 4 hours per booking process (either in one go or spread over several dates).

• What is rented out

  The exploratorium has 4 floors and is currently renting out 3 rooms.

  • Basement: access to Studio 1
  • Ground floor: access to hall via entrance G (via catering area) or entrance H (via courtyard), toilets
  • First floor: foyer, offices & library, toilets
  • Upstairs 2: Access to Studio 2

  A lift connects all 4 floors.
  All rooms are accessible and can be used with a pushchair, wheelchair or walking frame. There is an accessible toilet on the ground floor.

  Our soundproofing is not suitable for loud amplified music and our floor is not suitable for standard dance events.

  Please bear in mind that when you hire one of our rooms you may be exposed to noise from neighbouring rooms as well as surrounding businesses & tenants.

  The exploratorium berlin is easily accessible by public transport. Parking may be available by prior arrangement.

• Rental period & payment

  The minimum hire period per contract is 4 hours.

  The hire prices depend on the room selected, and in some cases also on the group size and time of day. The hire price includes a one-off room briefing free of charge. We charge a flat rate of €20.00 for each additional briefing.

  No discounts are given.
