This workshop is designed especially for artists from performative disciplines who wish to expand their artistic work through video. It offers an opportunity to explore the many potentials inherent in the interplay between video and performance.
The workshop focuses on the spatial dimension of video performance. What does it mean when the video image extends or replaces the stage? How can the camera manipulate or transform our perception of space? And how can bodies move through these digital images—being present, defining, claiming, or occupying space
Here, the camera is not seen as a mere documentation tool, but as a co-performer—shaping, interacting, altering, and intervening. The camera’s field of vision, or the video projection itself, can inspire specific movements and actions. At the same time, movement and action can influence how the camera is used.
No prior experience with video is required. Please bring a camera (e.g., a video camera, a photo camera with video function, or a smartphone) and a laptop on which video editing software is installed or can be installed.
