Intercultural Music Pool

Location: exploratorium berlin, hall

This permanent ensemble consists of musicians from different cultures and origins who meet regularly for intercultural exchange and creative ensemble play based on freely improvised music. Together they invent music from tone, sound, noise, rhythm and language, try out advanced playing techniques and ways of playing together, explore artistic commonalities, develop new forms of experimental, improvisational, intercultural music-making practice and thus perform in public.

The ensemble accepts new members after consultation, in particular refugee musicians who have just arrived in Germany, but also residents who have been living in Berlin for a long time with cultural roots outside of Central Europe.
