Location: exploratorium berlin, Saal

On stage will be Leonie Sobek, Sal, Samuel Wagner, Sébastien Branche and Vesti Gium; Olivia Silver will be participating with texts.

Selected through the open call for the Monday Residencies, the Fragments Ensemble meets weekly at the exploratorium from September 2026 to February 2027 to explore collective improvisation and interdisciplinary artistic research.

The participating artists Vesti Gium, Leonie Sobek, Lotti Mani, Sal, Sébastien Branche, Samuel Wagner and Olivia Silver bring together sound, movement, text, image, performance and objects. Together, they explore how traces emerge from improvisational encounters, and how these traces can be remembered, reassembled and transformed into new artistic forms.

On 31 October at 8 pm, the ensemble presents an Introduction Performance in the Saal, offering a first glimpse into their work and shared research process.

„Dear unknown,
On 31 October, I found a fragment of your last letter:

…leaving behind or carrying with me
faces
voices
no longer here.

In the broken mirror,
the many facets of my perception.

…under the sun… a letter to a friend.
And a shared bite of food.

A collective sound reaches my ears.
This, too, a fragment.

In tension, in harmony,
each thread reaches further
than we suspect…

We are Fragments. Lost and found in pieces, we carry sounds, gestures, words and memories. Some barely audible. Some too noisy to fit.

What is the glue that keeps our fragments connected?

We invite you to our first interdisciplinary improvised performance, through sound, movement, and text.

All improvised. All imperfect.

Fragments is an emerging ensemble selected through exploratorium berlin’s open call for the Monday Residencies, September 2026 to February 2027.

Come with the pieces you carry.“
