With Schrumpf! Biliana and the Instrument the artists invite the audience to explore the space together with them, based on their new piece ONETIME. In the middle of the exploration, the artists start with a performance in the middle of which the audience finds itself and can participate. Afterwards the question arises: What is this and how does it work?
The violinist Biliana Voutchkova is a solo and chamber musician. With great devotion she interprets, composes and improvises especially in the field of contemporary music and in experimental sound and movement projects; an artist with a very strong individual voice. She lives in Berlin, works as a soloist and together with Ensemble United Berlin, Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop, Splitter Orchestra, Zeitkratzer, Voutchkova/Thieke duo and has been heard at festivals and concert series worldwide. Biliana is founder / curator of the DARA String Festival. She received the composition grant of the Berlin Senate 2017 and support from the Trust for Mutual Understanding New York and INM Berlin.
The Instrument create performance pieces that arise from the collaboration between choreographer Maya M. Carroll and composer Roy Carroll. Their work demonstrates an intrepid sensuality and tactile, imaginative exploration of the body. The Instrument work closely with a wide range of artists. Their approach stems from a clear aesthetic of movement and sound that permeates all facets of the work, from light painting to graphics and visual art.
Daniella Strasfogel is a violinist, violin teacher and performer in Berlin. She is a founding member of the Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop in Berlin. In 2018, she initiated the audience discussion series The Artist Talk! at Kaleidoskop, which aims at an exchange between artists* and the audience. In 2018 she also founded LOUDsoft, out of the impulse to create multidimensional musical experiences for and with families. The first production HopSkipJump – Family Concerts for all Senses (2019) included 13 performances in four different Berlin districts.
SCHRUMPF! Musik & Theater & Tanz in Klein
SCHRUMPF! Musik & Theater & Tanz in Klein present seven Berlin ensembles and their current productions – in family format. New art forms are discovered, places are explored, movements are tried out, sounds are listened to – and everyone can participate.
LOUDsoft is a think tank for projects that create access to the world of classical or contemporary music and music theater for children, young people and their parents. LOUDsoft was founded in 2018 by the violinist and performer Daniella Strasfogel, out of the impulse to create family events where she would like to go with her family. LOUDsoft tries to build bridges between the worlds of children’s art and adult art and to bring interactive and sophisticated musical experiences for young people and their families to the stage.
