In their sound performance “Von Kartons und klingenden Dingen” (Of Cardboard Boxes and Sounding Things), the duo Fromberg & Roigk explore the sonic potential of cardboard boxes. The boxes serve simultaneously as sound sources, stage props, and walk-in resonating chambers, from which the two performers elicit a fantastic world of sound with the help of everyday objects and electronics.
The performance at the exploratorium is a family concert full of exciting sound experiences for young and old alike. In the sound lab that follows, the audience is also given a playful introduction to conducting their own research and making music with sounds. Children and adults can playfully try out the sound generators on the boxes and slip inside them to experience a different and immersive listening perspective.
