Johann Reißer
Johann Reißer is an author and theatre maker. After studying literature and philosophy, he wrote a doctoral thesis on archaeology and sampling in German poetry after 1960.
He publishes poetry, prose and intermedia works and presents them in performative readings. He has led various theatre and performance groups since 2009. His own plays have been performed on stages and at festivals in Germany, Austria, England and Scotland, most recently DER ERNSTFALL.
In 2010, he received the jury prize at the 100 Degrees Theatre Festival in Berlin for his own play, and residencies have taken him to Regensburg (2013), the Alfred-Döblin-Haus (2014), Rottweil (2014/15), Pfaffenhofen (2016) and Esslingen (2016/17). He was awarded the Berlin Senate Scholarship for his novel project “Pulver” in 2018.
Reißer has been leading writing workshops since 2014, focussing on poetry workshops.
