What do we do when we improvise? What can we say about improvisation?
In recent years, improvisation has become a hot topic in science in many disciplines. Many improvisers themselves are also keen to reflect intensively on their art. In our “Denkraum” aka think department, we therefore invite musicians and theorists to discussions and concerts to hear more about their practices and findings. Every year, we organize a symposium on various improvisation-related topics. Our Improvisation Reading Circle offers the opportunity to read and discuss texts about improvisation together. We also collect literature and other media about improvisation in our improvisation library.
