Workshop on perception and the creative use of sound through our individual experiences.
Lauren Newton works with participants, drawing on her experience in jazz, free improvisation, and contemporary music, and incorporates advanced vocal and instrumental techniques that go beyond the conventional. Among the aspects explored during this musical adventure are individual and collective sound, rhythmic and tonal elements, noise, melody, fragments of language, space, and unexpected moments.
By improvising with unconventional working methods, participants’ perception of music becomes clearer and takes on a deeper meaning for them and the audience. With the musical moment as a guide, creativity is unleashed and the cosmos of sound is experienced in new ways.
