What does music sound like when it’s created in the moment? What happens when something unexpected suddenly occurs? And how can many different ideas come together to create music, language, and movement?
In this workshop, saxophonist Ulrike Schwarz invites children to experiment, improvise, and contribute their own ideas together with musicians, a poet, and a clown. Participants will play, listen, try things out, and respond to one another, without having to know in advance what the final result will be.
The workshop is part of the “Auch das noch!” project, which is being developed as part of STOP OVER 5 – For Young Ears. The project is based on the idea that improvised music can open up special possibilities, particularly for people with ADHD: openness to the unexpected, shifting attention, and spontaneous connections can become a source of creativity here. The workshop aims to open up such a space of possibilities for children with and without ADHD.
What makes this special: The children who participate in the workshop are then invited to perform on stage alongside the professional musicians, the poet, and the clown during a piece at the concert on Sunday, November 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.
Anyone participating in the workshop is also cordially invited to attend the dress rehearsal on Saturday, November 21, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Participation in the dress rehearsal is recommended but not required.
