10:30–12:00 Taster workshops I
Course 1
Ingo Reulecke: Instant composition for dance and voice
From sensing and preparing our own physicality and voice, we will move on to improvising together in time and space. Within the various tasks I set, we will always return to listening to ourselves and to the group and integrate ourselves fully awake into the respective improvisation game. (Workshop languages German/English)
Course 2
Ulrike Brand: THE DROP – The drop that makes the barrel overflow (music improvisation)
Our world is constantly changing. A small event succeeds in turning the situation upside down, most relevantly in climate research. What does it sound like when the barrel overflows? Do we have a musical idea for the aftermath? Based on images, we invent musical models for climaxes and tipping points.
For voice, instruments and sound generators
(Workshop languages German/English)
Course 3
Johann Reißer: Instant Poetry
Mixing impressions of place, linguistic findings and linguistic musicality under guidance. Let the mixtures take shape. Present them together accompanied by instruments. Voilà! (In German language)
12:30–14:00 Taster workshops II
Course 4:
Maria Colusi: The transformative body (movement improvisation)
This workshop focusses on finding new perspectives on how we can structure or redesign the space around us through our presence, movement, interaction and decisions. How do we embody ideas through forms / movement? What is behind our movement behaviour and how do we act, develop and communicate with others?
We start with a guided improvisational warm-up. We will focus on the integration of breathing, gravity, finding textures and work with elements such as supports, rhythms, speed changes and coordination to create a dialogue between action and the awareness of spontaneous movement. (Workshop languages English/German)
Course 5:
Agnes Heginger: I sound, therefore I am (vocal improvisation)
Being with yourself and connecting with the outside world at the same time – the voice as a magical power that we always have with us makes it possible! During the course, we playfully discover what is inside us and wants to express itself. Everything is sound, everything is music, everything is allowed to be! (In German language)
Course 6:
Eiko Yamada: Line and dots: Experiencing Rests, Playing Rests (Music Improvization) – Fully booked
Using suitable rules, we will try to create breaks ‘artificially’ and experience them in different musical contexts in order to recognise their different meanings and thus deal with them more consciously. (In German language, translation into Japanese is possible)
17:30–19:00 Taster workshops III
Course 7:
Corinna Eikmeier: From movement experiment to improvisation idea (Improvisation in music and movement)
We will start by trying out small movement and perception warm-ups. On this basis, we will explore the connections between physical control and improvisational freedom in dance and musical improvisation. (Workshop languages German/English)
Course 8:
Matthias Schwabe: Pitches – experimental? ! (music improvisation) – Fully booked
Dealing with pitches, beyond prefabricated tone stocks and in the context of experimental playing: How can this be done? In this workshop we will explore different approaches. (Workshop languages German/English)
