Heidemarie Wiesner

After several sucesses in her youth, Wiesner, who was born in Bautzen moved on to study piano with Prof. G. Kootz and improvisation with Prof. Dr. P. Jarchow in Leipzig at the Hochschule für Musik “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“. After recieving her diploma in 1991, she completed her postgraduate studies at the Sweelinck Conservatorium Amsterdam with Prof. H. Dercksen in 1997 with the soloist diploma. She attended master classes with several professors, including G. Sebøk, E. Indjic, H. Austbø, P. Badura-Škoda, to name a few.
After moving to Milan in 1989, Wiesner directed a contempory chamber music series at the cultural centre „Casa Cini“ (Ferrara), and created various classical concert series and ArtSalon, a recurring event, during which many artists of different genres could meet and share their work.

In 2010, she relocated to Berlin, where she continues her artistic and didactic activities, now focusing on international concert activities, chamber music in musica responsa with Waltraut Elvers, and improvisation. In 2017 she founded MittagsMusik, small concerts at lunchtime, which have since been held at various locations in Berlin.

Coming from a Sorabian family, she has been devoting herself to the interpretation of Sorbian classical and contemporary music for several years. Since 1995, the „Das besondere Konzert zur Jahreswende/Special Concerts at the Turn of the Year” have been held in Lusatia under her direction, which include Sorabian music, as well as classical masterpieces. In 2020, the CD “150 Years of Sorabian/Wendish Piano Music” was released and in 2021, she produced the documentary film “Jahreswende” (YouTube).
